Lightspeed insignia
-
- rescue emblem representative of Lightspeed organization
801-OpLs
The Lightspeed
insignia was found on virtually all Lightspeed uniforms and technology, with rare, if any, exceptions;
their appearances are far too numerous to count.
The Lightspeed
insignia, also referred to as a sigil in this guide, was a blue
six-pronged design found on the medical caduceus, that being the design
on which two intertwined snakes are usually found; Lightspeed's variant consisted of two Y shapes
overlaid, the foreground shape being an upside-down Y, and the sigil was
almost always set in a gold circle.
Mariner Bay
amulances and hospitals still bore their traditional caduceus crests,
indicating that the Lightspeed sigil was
presumably designed to be reminiscent of the rescue emblem.
802-LsTm
From the large sigil in the top section of the Train Bay, the Rescue
Bird, and later the Red Mobile Armored
Vehicle, would appear mid-flight in a flash of light.
807-CybR
The belts of the Cyborg Rangers, the trenchcoats of Dr. Harlen and crew, and the
sleeve of General McKnight's
military uniform and the uniforms of the two officers accompanying him
all bore a red and gold variant of the traditional blue and gold Lightspeed sigil; precisely what this sigil
represented is uncertain, although McKnight would appear to refer to
himself as being a part of Lightspeed
Rescue.
812-TDis
The round silver face of a green and silver robot
in Transport was modeled after the
Lightspeed sigil, with the foreground, upside-down Y shape black, and
the background Y shape yellow, serving as eyes and mouth for the robot's
face.
822-TrR2
When the Galaxy
Rangers' Orion power spread into the
Omega Megazord, giving it the Orion armor and Galaxy Megazord Saber, the hilt of
the Orion Galaxy Megazord Saber bore a Lightspeed sigil rather than its standard Galaxy Ranger V.
838-SDem
Above the mockup Lifeforce Megazord cockpit, as in the
real version, was a large gold sigil; also throughout the cockpit were
normal blue sigils.
The Lifeforce
Megazord, despite bearing a standard blue and gold sigil on its
waist, wielded a duplicate Lightspeed
Megazord Saber, but with a large red sigil rather than blue.
The Lifeforce Megazord cockpit had a blue
sigil down front which was lit up by a spotlight like the Rangers' individual crests, but it was masked
by a superimposed black circle in most shots.
839-FLs1
Of the US Lifeforce and Omega Megazord cockpits, which were clones
of each other (the same situation as the sentai footage) but which did
not match their sentai counterparts, it was the Omega Megazord cockpit which featured a red
sigil above the cockpit, whereas the Lifeforce Megazord's was blue. (Note:
Both sigils are off-screen on most TVs and are generally viewable only
with a screen capture device such as a Snappy - and even then only
during certain frames where explosions jar the camera.)
