101-DOTD

  • In the Command Center, Zordon assigned each Dinozord to its respective Ranger as the teens were shown suited up as the Rangers. (Source: Submitted by "Josh G.")
  • When the Dinozords were summoned, each Dinozord appeared to come from a different geographical location.
  • The Rangers entered their individual cockpits from above.
  • As Rangers, the teens acquired an innate knowledge for piloting the Dinozords.

  • The five Dinozords fought independently for a while against the Minotaur before the Rangers formed the Megazord.
  • Zordon agreed with Alpha that the Zords didn't stand a chance against the Minotaur.
  • Zordon was able to talk to the Rangers in their cockpits.
  • After the Rangers had teleported from the Megazord cockpit to the Command Center, Zordon told them that the Zords had been returned to their hiding places.

  • Morphed Jason didn't call on his Zord when confronted by Goldar and King Sphinx, both giant; when Trini saw Jason confronted by giant Goldar and King Sphinx in the Viewing Globe, she said it seemed hopeless, and Zordon agreed it would seem that way.
  • The Rangers summoned their Power Crystals from between their hands and then inserted them into the right sides of their Zord control panels.

  • Goldar and Green Ranger, both giant, combined the energy of their swords to shoot a fire blast with a tight green energy beam in the middle; this blast opened a chasm in the earth, ejected the Rangers from the Megazord and demorphed them, and caused the Megazord to fall into the lava pit at the bottom of the chasm and disassemble into its component Zords before sinking into the lava.

  • Alpha told Zordon that the Zords had been taken away.
  • After their Power Coins had been glowing following Zordon's return, the Rangers seemed to teleport as Ranger-colored streaks of light down into the chasm where the Dinozords had sunk (as suggested by the teleportation sound effect and the teens' confused yelling), but they were then shown leaping up to the returned Zords after the five fighting machines had arisen from the lava pit.

  • Zordon said that taking Zords into battle at half power had never been tried before; if the Zords' backups failed, the Rangers and everything in the Morphing Grid could vanish forever.
  • After Lokar and Cyclopsis had all but destroyed the Zords and Lokar had told her they were all hers, Rita blasted the Megazord and Dragonzord with a red beam which caused them to crackle with blue energy bolts, and vanish piece-by-piece in red and black energy; after the Rangers had ejected and demorphed in time, Billy explained that the Zords had vanished due to the new security system Zordon had designed for the Zords, whereby they would disassemble and return to their secret hiding place to re-energize when they lost in battle.
  • After Alpha had obtained access to Rita's databank and discovered Cyclopsis's weakness, Alpha said the Zords were ready and waiting for the Rangers; the Zords were fully repaired and appeared to be at full power, despite their earlier lack of power and near-destruction.
  • The Dinozords individually fought Cyclopsis for a while.

  • Once the Rangers had returned to the Command Center, fleeing from the Tyrannosaurus and Dragonzord, both under Pirantishead's control, Zordon told the teens that nothing they could do would ever give the Dinozords enough power; they now needed stronger, new Zords equipped with "the power of Thunder" to defeat Zedd.
  • The Rangers had to regain control of the Dinozords before they could take control the Thunderzords.

  • Billy and Trini's signal blocker returned control of the Dinozords to the Rangers.
  • After the Rangers had regained control of their Zords, Zedd stripped the Zords of their power and returned them "to the depths of the Earth from whence they came," causing them to sink into lava at the bottom of a fissure in the ground.
  • After Zedd had sunk the Dinozords into the lava, Zordon told Alpha, "We must work quickly to preserve what remains of the Zords. Recalibrate the Morphing Grid and encase the Zords with static power, then move them to their hiding places, and with luck there'll be enough left of the old Zords to create the new Zords."
  • Shortly afterward, Zordon told the Rangers that Alpha had managed to save enough of their old Zords to create the new Zords.
  • Every time the Rangers would summon the Thunderzords, each Ranger's summoning phrase would be, "<Dinozord name> <Thunderzord name> Thunderzord power!"; afterward, each Dinozord would be shown being struck by a Ranger-colored lightning bolt and morphing into its respective Thunderzord counterpart.
