Andros heard as Divatox
bragged, "And then I discovered where the Power Chamber was! And with one touch of
this little finger, I blew the Rangers
into high heaven!"
Once Rita had bumped into
her rival Divatox, Andros continued listening
as Rita asked Divatox
if she was still after the Power Rangers,
and Divatox casually replied that she'd
destroyed the Rangers and added, "Well,
somebody had to."
After Andros had backed off, but still listening,
Rita worriedly asked Zedd if Divatox had
really destroyed the Power Rangers, and
Zedd admitted that it was sort of the
universal gossip.
Andros was watching nearby as Rita blasted at Divatox
but Astronema caught the stray blast in her
hand, then as Elgar explained to Divatox, "That's Astronema. They say she'll be the new queen of
evil."; Divatox had
other plans, but she then looked at Andros and asked what he was staring
at, making him back away.
Andros had a seat at the banquet table at which
most of the major villains were seated; while the
villains awaited Dark
Specter, Astronema and the cloaked
Andros exchanged curious glances; Astronema
was fidgeting with her locket at the time.
After Dark Specter
had arrived and shown that he was draining Zordon's powers and would ultimately extinguish
them, the villains had a lava juice toast, but Divatox was insulted to notice that the cloaked
stranger hadn't drunk any.
When Machina asked who
he was, Astronema stood and dramatically
announced that he was a spy.
As the outraged villains
prepared to attack, Andros fended off some Quantrons, kicked General Havoc over his chair, then drew his
Spiral Saber and ran across the
table.
At the table in the Megaship's workbay, Andros had been eating or preparing to
eat from a silver plate of what looked like spaghetti just before going
to spy on Dark Specter's assembly of villains on the Cimmerian Planet; the food was
still warm.
Upon entering from the direction of the workbay and seeing T.J., Ashley, and Alpha on
the bridge, morphed Andros was startled; he backed away anxiously as
T.J. apologetically tried to explain that they
hadn't come there by choice, asking if this was his ship, and he then
ran when he saw Cassie and Carlos happening to walk up from the workbay as well.
Andros slid down a ladder leading to a lower deck
and eventually ambushed the teens on Megadeck 6, attacking them despite their
attempts to explain that they didn't want to fight.
Just as Alpha rushed
up exclaiming, "Straight-nah!", with his damaged voice chip, a sphinx ship sent by Astronema blasted the Megaship, knocking everyone into the wall.
Andros initially had his hand on Cassie's shoulder, as though to help her, but he
ran off and took the Megalift to the bridge, knowing just from the Megaship being under fire that Astronema was attacking.
On the bridge,
Andros told DECA to apply full power to the Astro
Thrusters, but he then saw on the viewscreen that the engines were disabled due to a loose
cable.
As the Megaship
plunged toward a planet below, Andros was
startled when DECA told him the Astro Thrusters
were back online, and he saw on the viewscreen that the teens and Alpha had
fixed it, making him realize that they'd been telling him the truth
after all.
After the Megaship had crash-landed despite its
restored Astro Thrusters, Andros took the Megalift to Megadeck
6 and asked the teens and Alpha, whom he still called intruders, who they
were.
After returning to the bridge upon being told Astronema's ship (presumably the sphinx ship) had landed,
Andros knew from DECA's announcement of Astronema's forces disembarking that this meant
Quantrons.
When T.J. explained on the
bridge that they had been the Power Rangers and that they were on their
way to Eltar to save Zordon, Andros faintly glanced over his shoulder
without a word.
As morphed Andros prepared to disembark to fight
off the approaching Quantrons, T.J. told him they were going with him, and the four
teens ran outside with Red Ranger to fight the Quantrons without powers.
As Andros and the teens
charged at the Quantrons, Andros called out,
"Let's get 'em!"
After a successful jump kick attack on some Quantrons, Andros seemed surprised to notice
the four teens struggling with great difficulty
against the enemies, and he simply stood watching as the teens helped each other; suddenly, Ashley warned him of a Quantron sneaking up behind him, and he soon
chased the remaining Quantrons away.
As the four teens
checked each other out, Andros demorphed into his Megaship uniform and stood still
as the teens studied him, with Ashley circling him with a scrutinizing gaze.
Andros had long brown hair with several blond
streaks in it, and he wore two earrings in his left ear.
Ashley was surprised
that Andros was human and yet not from Earth, and he condescendingly replied that Earth wasn't the only place where humans lived, and that he was from a space colony
on the planet KO-35 in the Karova system.
After the teens had
introduced themselves, Andros seemed initially startled by T.J.'s attempt to shake hands, but he eventually
returned the gesture and told them his name.
Soon, Carlos was in the
engine room attempting to repair Alpha following DECA's
instructions, while the other three teens spoke
with Andros as he made repairs to the outside of the ship.
While working on the Megaship's exterior and talking with the teens, Andros switched tools by hand rather than
using his later-revealed telekinesis.
When Ashley asked about
Zordon, Andros told the teens that Dark
Specter had him and was draining all his powers; T.J. and Cassie said that if
Zordon lost all his powers, they were all
history, but Andros replied that Zordon was
strong and that it would take some time for Dark Specter to take away all the power,
which gave Andros some time.
Cassie tried to explain
that they were all in this together, but Andros merely walked away into
the Megaship; once in the engine room, T.J.
told him they all had the same goal, to protect Zordon.
Andros contemptuously told the teens they were planetary Rangers, from Earth, and
asked what they knew about space; T.J. supposed they knew nothing, and Andros agreed,
"Exactly."
After an engine
test, Carlos said they'd have to wait until
they got back to Earth before Alpha's speech board could be fixed, but Andros
then took Alpha aside and fixed him with
spare Alpha parts he apparently happened to
have lying around in the cargo bay.
As Andros worked on Alpha's back, he asked the robot his mission,
and Alpha, cycling through different voices,
spoke, "My mission is to protect the Power
Rangers. And their quest, to protect the universe from the forces of evil. One goal, one team, known as the Power Rangers."
When the repairs were done, Alpha spoke with a chirpy voice and used "Ay yi
yi yi yi," sounding much like Alpha Five;
Andros explained he didn't have a computer chip of Alpha's old voice.
Andros then went to make sure the teens' shuttle
could make it back to Earth, and while he was
later working under a set of controls on the bridge, Andros had DECA program the shuttle for Earth.
Ashley came in from the
Megalift and casually asked if he ever went
home to KO-35; he told her he didn't, then
refused her hand to help him up when he was done.
When the other three entered, Andros told the teens they had fuel and supplies, enough to get
them back to Earth, and they were soon outside
as the Megaship took off.
As Andros had the Mega Accelerator set to Hyper Rush 3, Alpha, having stowed away in the Megaship, entered, surprising him mildly;
Alpha told him he was making a big mistake,
telling him the five of them had the same mission and were supposed to
be a team; DECA agreed that Alpha had a valid point.
Andros curtly insisted that he worked alone and
didn't need them, but Alpha made him think
about the fact that if he were going to rescue Zordon, he'd need all the help he could get, and
Andros had DECA turn the Megaship around after remembering the teens' words about working together.
Once the Megaship
had returned and landed, the teens having been
freed from the Quantrons' grasp by a blast
apparently aimed at the Megaship, Andros
ran out and gave the four teensAstro Morphers, apparently distributing
them at random; after telling them to put them on, Andros called, "All
right, let's rocket!" and just as he performed his preparatory gesture to morph, T.J.'s hand
could be seen simultaneously doing the gesture as well; the other teens weren't shown.
Andros appeared to have hazel eyes during his morph.
After the fight in which the five Rangers had fought off the Quantrons with their special weapons, Carlos asked Andros if he was all right, and he
replied, "Yeah, thanks to all of you."
Andros knew this wasn't over, as he knew Astronema and said she wouldn't give up that
easily.
Back on the bridge once the Megaship had lifted off and been attacked
by the sphinx ship again,
unmorphed Andros listened expressionless in his Megaship uniform as Alpha described having found the code to merge
the Megashuttle with the Megaship to form the Astro Megazord according to Zordon's master plan (at the time, however, all
five of the Rangers were still supposed
to be morphed).
Once in the shuttle's Megazord cockpit, morphed Andros appeared to be
quite confident about controlling the formation of the Megazord, but this may be attributed to
standard Ranger intuition.
As soon as the Astro
Megazord had been successfully formed, Andros peered out from the cockpit and remarked,
"It worked!"
Later, as Andros gave his new teammates a tour of
the Megaship, they were wearing their
own respectively-colored versions of his Megaship uniform.
At a console on the bridge, Andros pressed two buttons to
silence DECA's bragging during his tour.
T.J. asked where they
started to look for Zordon, and Andros replied
that they started by fixing the Megaship, as she wasn't ready to make a
long-distance voyage.
Andros didn't have the equipment needed to fix
the Megaship, so Cassie suggested NASADA
on Earth; initially uncomfortable with the idea,
Andros eventually swallowed his pride and had DECA set the course for Earth.
On their journey to Earth, Andros demonstrated the Simudeck's capabilities to the teens by letting morphed T.J.
and Ashley fight Craterites and a manta ray monster.
When Alpha announced
their approach of Earth after the Simudeck lesson, T.J., Cassie and Carlos ran off
excited while Ashley stayed a moment to talk
with Andros.
When asked, Andros somewhat nervously replied
that he'd never been to Earth before, and Ashley took his arm and began telling him about
all the great things on Earth: beaches, music,
the mall, etc.
The day after they'd taken the shuttle to Earth, the teens took
Andros to the Surf Spot, where he was quite
nervous.
Intrigued by a blue surfboard hanging on the
wall, probably reminding him of a Galaxy
Glider, Andros touched it after trying to look at its underside, and
it fell off the wall.
Adelle, the owner of the
Surf Spot, jovially rushed to put the
surfboard back up, and when he asked what it was, she jokingly asked
what planet he was from; he excitedly replied,
"KO-35. Do you know of it?", causing her to
chuckle and call him a smart alec, and after a bit of thought, he called
out after her that his name was actually Andros.
Andros then joined the others at their table as
they looked at the menus.
Andros, disturbed by Bulk
hogging all the french fries while only letting Skull have his own water, subtlely used telekinesis
with two fingers to pour hot sauce into Bulk's
milkshake while Bulk was reading the newspaper; Ashley was
apparently the only person to notice.
After accidentally drinking the hot sauce and
finding Skull's water glass empty, Bulk rushed to the teens'
table and poured a jug of water into his mouth, making Andros chuckle to
himself behind his hand as Carlos asked
"Bulkie" if he was okay.
After Bulk and
Skull had left to find the Professor,
Carlos and T.J. knew their
UFO description matched the Dark
Fortress, at which point Andros stood up, whispering, "Astronema!", and he had them leave to get the
rest of the supplies and return to the ship immediately.
As the teens rushed out,
Ashley stopped Andros and asked if he'd done
that with the milkshake, but he merely asked what a milkshake was and
ran out with the others.
When the Rangers
encountered Ecliptor at NASADA, Andros told the others they'd have to
fight as a team to beat Ecliptor, in which
case it's doubtful that Andros had managed to stand up to Ecliptor while working alone in the past two
years.
As the Rangers
flew out of the Megaship in the shuttle to form the Megazord, Andros asked T.J. about their status, treating him like
second-in-command.
Later, after the teens
had completed diagnostics on the Megaship, Ashley
took Andros to the Simudeck for a game of
pool, where she used the control kiosk to bring up a pool table room.
Andros had never played pool before.
Andros casually used his telekinesis to lift his
cue stick to his hand with Ashley watching.
Andros told Ashley he'd
practiced for years at telekinesis, and he agreed to give her some
pointers on telekinesis if she taught him pool.
Ashley stuck out her
hand to make the deal, and he shook it.
According to Andros, the Galaxy Gliders, which the Rangers rode while morphed to fly
through space, were for safety since the Astro Megashuttle was too vulnerable to
attack.
When DECA announced Electrotramp's attack in Angel Grove, Andros decided to forgo their
training session and leapt into his jump
tube; although nervous, the others then did the same.
Not surprisingly, Andros had no idea who the Ninja Turtles were when they suddenly arrived to
help the Rangers against Electrotramp.
Andros was quite suspicious of the Turtles and their mysterious arrival just in time to
save them; when the Turtles asked for a ride to
New York City, Andros tried to speak with the others about his concerns,
but T.J. told him to lighten up and jovially
accepted without Andros's agreement, then the four Rangersteleported with the Turtles to the Megaship.
Knowing something wasn't right, Andros then teleported to the Megaship as well.
Soon afterward performing diagnostics on the
ship's engine, Andros listened as the four teens gave the highly curious Turtles a tour of the Megaship, explaining its systems.
When Cassie was about to
follow the Turtles out of the engine room, Andros wondered aloud why
they were asking so many questions about the Megaship; Cassie
pointed out that not everyone grew up with a spaceship in their garage,
and Andros, with joking poutiness, corrected that they had skyports, not
garages.
When DECA told Andros the
main computer control port had been opened, Andros ran off, declaring,
"I knew it!"
Andros confronted Leo, Mike, and Don at the
control port in a hallway; DECA now spoke with an
attitude about being "Certified Turtlefied."
When Leo brandished his
sword and said he'd be next to be given a better attitude, Andros
knocked him down, then dodged Mike and grappled
Don by the arm; Don began
to cry out, "Wait! Can't we talk about this!" but Andros kicked him back
into Mike and Leo before
he could finish, then ran off.
Chased by the three Turtles, Andros lost them by climbing up a corner
ladder to an upper deck.
Soon, all of the teens
but Andros were captured, tied up with glowing cable in the engine room and guarded by Quantrons.
Hiding behind the reactor, Andros used his
telekinesis to cut the teens' restraining cable
with a pair of wire cutters, but they dropped afterward, making the Quantrons investigate.
T.J. showed a Quantron the cut wire and kicked him back, then
the five teens rushed off to get to the jump tubes.
As the Rangers
flew from the Megaship in the shuttle, Andros had the shuttle flown through a
reverse-polarized magnetic field to jam the Megaship's sensors.
As the Rangers
fought Quantrons on a rocky planet where they'd landed, the Turtles arrived and handed the Rangers back their dropped weapons, with the Rangers initially a bit fearful; when Leonardo told them, "The green machine has gone
clean!" Andros thanked him and gave a thumbs-up, telling him he believed
him this time.
After Astronema's forces had retreated, Andros, after some
reluctance, shook Leonardo's hand.
The Megaship flew
through space when the teens called it a night and went to bed; at the
time, Carlos was finishing up work on the
underside of the red Galaxy Glider, and
Andros was alone on the bridge
searching galaxies for life with a transparent starmap showing various
planets.
DECA told Andros no
lifeforms were detected in the galaxy he was searching, so he had her
scan the next sector, the Delta sector.
Andros's fingernails were quite long.
Sitting at the bridge's front left seat, Andros looked around, then pulled out a round
locket, of the same shape and size of Astronema's, and from which came a tiny
reflective disc which he inserted into a player on the controls in front
of him.
On the viewscreen was a scene of Andros and his
apparently younger sister Karone as children,
playing with a hovering sphere, perhaps levitated by their telekinesis,
in a park on KO-35.
Young Andros had the same hair and wore all red,
with the same belt as from his Megaship uniform, and wearing the
same locket he had in present day; on his shirt was a black star on the
chest near the left shoulder, and across the whole chest, where the Space Rangers' chest stripes would've been,
was a black stripe.
Karone had messy light
brown hair with a headband, a sparkly gold suit like Andros's red suit,
and also wore a round locket, bearing a design like Andros's.
When the ball had flown off to one side and young
Andros had run after it, a growling figure (actually Darkonda, but not shown clearly in the video)
whisked a screaming Karone away.
Being carried away, Karone had kept screaming for Andros's help,
troubling present-day Andros as he listened to the recording.
Andros told DECA if he
could find who the kidnapper was, he could find his sister; DECA told him it was getting very late, but he chose
to continue the search.
Later, with the sector scan 98% complete and no
lifeforms detected, Andros rolled up his starmap and put it into a metal
cylinder, then walked off, telling DECA good
night.
At the last minute, the computer chirped, and DECA found a lifeform in the Karova system on KO-35; Andros suddenly deduced that Karone would go home to KO-35 since she wouldn't have known that the colony
was deserted years ago, and he set a course for KO-35.
Later that night, DECA
woke Andros, who was sleeping at the table in the workbay, to tell him they had arrived at KO-35; when he asked about the others' being awake,
she said only he was awake and asked if she should wake them, but he
told her not to, as he'd be back before they got up.
After getting an AmScanner from his locker, Andros
flew down to the planet in morphed form.
Looking around a city of KO-35, Andros remarked that he'd never thought he'd
be home again.
Andros noted that the place looked so strange, so
deserted, and that if Karone had returned,
she'd be very confused.
When Carlos, the last
one to get breakfast in the workbay the next
morning, asked where Andros was, the teens
didn't know, and T.J. had thought he would've been
with Carlos; what exactly T.J. was implying is uncertain.
Learning that Andros had gone down to KO-35, Carlos explained to
the others that Andros was looking for his long-lost sister, who, if she
escaped, wouldn't know that KO-35 had been
attacked and abandoned years ago.
Andros was finally attacked by Ecliptor, and he
did poorly against the villain.
When Ecliptor
generated a cyber-shadow to blast the downed Andros, morphed Carlos stepped in front of Andros, receiving a
powerful blast from Ecliptor's eyebeams which
gravely wounded him.
As Andros helped the semi-conscious Carlos up, he asked Carlos what he was doing there, and Carlos, clutching his chest as they retreated,
reminded him they were a team.
Andros flew away with Carlos lying limply across the red Galaxy Glider, planning to return.
Andros went into the hallway, and Cassie thought he didn't understand that they were
a team; T.J. said he understood but just didn't
accept it.
Guilt-ridden, Andros ran to the jump tubes, telling DECA not to say a word to anyone.
Once Andros had returned
and was looking for him, Ecliptor, from
somewhere nearby, asked Andros if he was alone, or whether he'd grown so
weak that he had to rely on the help of others.
As the three other Rangers helped Andros retreat from giant Ecliptor, a weakened but morphed Carlos limped up to the others.
Carlos told Andros he
was a part of the team, and that Andros would need all the help he could
get, and Andros agreed.
Once Ecliptor had
retreated from the Megalasers, Andros was silently
upset that it had all been a trick.
Later, Andros was working out in a red sweatsuit
when Carlos came in, feeling better.
Andros brought a towel to himself with his
telekinesis.
Andros was surprised to learn that Carlos knew about his missing sister, and he
agreed to let the others help him find her, as they were a team.
Andros felt they made a pretty good team, and he
shook hands with Carlos.
On the teens' mission to
recover a downed satellite on Kalderon, Andros used kilometers rather
than miles to measure distance.
As the teens prepared to
leave with the data discs, Astronema, Quantrons, and Elgar
confronted them; staring down the villains with discs in hand, Andros had them
morph.
After the Rangers
had been defeated and chained up on the ground, the data discs fell out
of Elgar's vest, probably to due Andros's
telekinesis, as the villains were
leaving; Andros's head dropped weakly once the discs had fallen.
Andros didn't seem familiar with Clawhammer when the giant
lobster-like monster stomped in.
When the Astro
Megazord landed to fight Clawhammer while the Rangers were still chained up, Andros was
astonished, not realizing Alpha was piloting
it.
With great effort while the Megazord was being beaten, Andros slid his
dropped Astro Blaster over to himself
with his telekinesis and then freed the Rangers from the chains with it.
Andros was at Angel Grove
High with the teens as they were going to
take their math midterms.
When the bell rang, Andros was startled, and he
assumed a defensive stance before T.J. calmed him
and told him class was starting, meaning they were late.
The four teens then went
into their classroom,
leaving Andros to explore Angel Grove and
make some friends; Andros called after them
meekly, "Don't worry about ME..."
At the Surf Spot, a
girl named Susie, at a pool
table with fellow car thieves David and Chuck, amusedly watched Andros at
a table trying to bite into a banana without peeling it; she advised him
to peel it first, and after peeling it and finding it quite tasty,
Andros approached their pool table and gave them some friendly advice on
the best shot to make.
Chuck
bet Andros his milkshake he couldn't make the shot Andros had
recommended; after handing Susie his banana, Andros made the
shot perfectly, impressing and amusing David and Susie; Chuck grumbled that he'd been
lucky, but Andros cheerfully replied, "Actually, it's physics."
Later walking out of the Surf Spot, Andros found Chuck trying to unlock a car door
with a coat hanger on the curb with the other two by him.
Andros assumed Chuck couldn't get into his own
car, and Chuck went along with
it.
Looking at the door with the others probably not
watching all that carefully, Andros made a gesture with his fingers,
unlocking the door with his telekinesis.
Susie
asked how he'd done that, and Andros came up with the answer that you
just had to know your cars.
After introducing himself, David, and Susie, Chuck suggested they show Andros
some sights and maybe he could help them out with some of the stuff they
had to do; Andros agreed, telling them his name, and shook hands with Chuck.
While driving the hot-wired car, Chuck offered Andros some gum,
which Andros swallowed and then asked for another.
Susie
showed Andros how to blow a bubble, and he blew a large one with his new
piece which popped all over his mouth, making his three friends laugh.
Chuck
spotted his friend Mikey and pulled up to a curb near some shops where a
guy in ragged jeans ran up and grabbed an old woman's purse; as Mikey
was running, Andros got out of the car and grabbed the purse from him,
struggling with him until a police officer ran up
and restrained Mikey.
Andros gave the woman back her purse, and she
hugged him and offered him a reward, but, almost surprised, he told her
she didn't owe him anything.
When Andros got back into the car and told his
friends if there was one thing he couldn't stand, it was a thief, Chuck blinked and drove them away.
As they drove, Andros spotted some blue
electricity hopping between high voltage lines, and he had Chuck stop the car, then ran off,
telling his friends he just remembered something he had to do.
Encountering Voltage Hog at a power center
nearby, Andros morphed, making the
monster retreat.
Soon, unmorphed Andros walked up to his friends
in a place full of scrapped cars outside of which he'd seen their car
parked.
Andros found the thieves taking the seat out of
the Surf Spot van and cheerfully recognized
it as Adelle's missing van; Chuck said she'd loaned it to
them, but Andros, looking around at the junkyard full of scrapped cars,
realized they were the car thieves.
Upset and having thought they were becoming
friends, Andros asked, "David?
Susie?", and the two felt
ashamed.
Before storming off, Andros said the cars were
all going back to their owners.
When Voltage Hog attacked the three
thieves, Andros suddenly ran up and jump-kicked the monster in the back,
then stood in front of the thieves, telling Voltage Hog he had to go through
him to get to them.
When Voltage Hog charged Andros, he
took a quick defensive stance and fought the monster.
As Chuck
ran, David and Susie stayed to help; when Andros
was sent spinning through the air and crashing into the ground, stunned
and clutching his chest, David
and Susie threw a tire and a
bin at the monster, knocking him over.
The three retreated together, with Andros
remarking that he guessed they weren't so bad after all.
As David
and Susie kept running, Andros
ducked into an alcove in the aisle of cars to morph once they were gone.
Fighting Voltage Hog at another power
station near a field and small stream, Andros was attacked by Ecliptor, and he fought back poorly against the
villain.
After snapping the end off the Spiral Saber, Ecliptor knocked Andros into a nearby mud puddle
and stomped his head into it.
Another day, Andros wanted to speak with Adelle, but David and Susie, sitting at a table looking
guilt-ridden, were already waiting to talk with her, so Andros backed
off and let them speak with her instead.
Watching as Susie and David apologized and returned Adelle's keys, and as Adelle forgave them and hired them as delivery
drivers, Andros happily sat back with the teens.
After the four teens'
classes in Angel Grove, Andros showed Carlos and T.J. on the Megaship some images of the new Megatank, parked on a sidewalk
somewhere with trees in the background.
Explaining why they needed a new vehicle, Andros
said the planet where Zordon was being held could be a planet with rough terrain, and they had to be
ready for anything; this was shortly after the teens' uncomfortable mission to the volcanic
planet Kalderon in 606-SatS.
When Carlos, after
Andros's explanation behind the Megatank, added that it looked cool
too, Andros shook his head in disdain, making T.J.
chuckle.
When the Rangers learned that Cassie and Lenny were trapped at the top of
a building which Elephantitan was trying to
topple, Andros said the only way to get up there in time was the
(untested) Megatank, though why
they couldn't have used the Galaxy
Gliders instead is unknown.
Cassie seemed a bit
surprised to find that Andros was still collecting storm data.
After thousands of Craterites had dropped from the Megaship into the city, Andros knew a good bit about their
programming and motives, as they were Simudeck creations.
After T.J. had defeated
several remaining Craterites in their fight
at the beach, the others
congratulated him, with Andros bumping fists with him.
In battle, Carlos instructed Cassie
and the others in using their special
weapons; then it would be his weapon attack which defeated Sting King, after which he, not
Andros, would then stand in the center of the Rangers.
When the Megaship, in Earth
orbit, received an emergency recording from the Phantom Ranger, Andros was on the bridge, then when the others came in
asking about the emergency message, Ashley was
already there to tell them it was a message from the Phantom Ranger, and she then played the
message.
As the teens watched in
concern as Ashley brought up the recording,
Andros watched as well, but whether he'd previously known or heard of
the Phantom is uncertain.
When Phantom told
the Rangers he would go after Zordon, Andros gave an undecided "hmm," at which
point Phantom pulled out a disc
container and told him that it controlled the Delta Megaship, a mighty weapon which they
would need, and that he had to retrieve it immediately, as it was
completely unprotected; Andros asked, "But Phantom Ranger, what about--?" but Phantom insisted, "Please, take it."
Andros agreed and told the others to get back to
Earth while he went after the Delta Megaship.
Andros was quite unfamiliar with the interior of
the Delta Megaship.
Before going unconscious, Phantom told Andros to insert the disc into
the primary slot; not knowing which was the correct slot, Andros
randomly inserted the disc into the left slot, making an alarm sound,
and the room was lit by flashing red light.
A female voice announced, "Sequence initiated,"
and began counting down from ten, making Andros panic; after the
countdown, the voice then said, "Security disk scanning sequence
complete," relieving Andros to know he'd chosen the correct slot.
When the voice announced, "Delta Megaship ready for Battlizer command," Andros, preparing to summon
the Battlizer, remarked, "Battlizer! All right!", apparently familiar
with the device.
Andros, hoping the others were okay, spoke into
his Battlizer to tell them he was on his
way; perhaps interpreting this as a voice command, the Delta Megaship then engaged its rear boosters,
surprising Andros a bit as he was rocked around.
As the Delta Megaship soon approached the Earth, the voice announced, "Initiating Megazord transformation."; Andros's only reply was, "Huh?"
Soon after Crocovile's destruction, the Rangers returned to Hercuron to search for Phantom but found only another hologram
device which Andros identified as a communications device; Andros turned
it on, activating the Phantom's
holographic recording.
In space on their Galaxy Gliders after searching a heavy planet for Dark
Specter together, Andros and Ashley were
quite pleased to be free of that gravity, and they then performed some
flip and loop tricks; he flipped in front of her as his glider moved
sideways to catch him, and she then did a loop on her glider.
Typing in a sequence to flip his keyboard over
into a Battlizer control port, Andros used
only his right index finger, suggesting he was not experienced with a
QWERTY keyboard.
As the Astro
Megazord fired the reverse-polarized beam, Andros told the others
not to stop firing until he gave the word, and then, despite the others'
insistence that they had to back off as the temperature redlined, Andros
continued, thinking they were wearing the Delta
Megazord down; this strategy eventually shorted out the Evilyzer but also nearly depleted the Astro Megazord's energy.
Learning in the park of Carlos's
and Ashley's pretending to be a couple to
attempt to stop Mrs.
Hammond's matchmaking, Andros said the situation was very
interesting and suggested she could tell the truth.
When Mrs.
Hammond had Carlos and Ashley go on their first date after learning they
weren't currently dating, Andros was just as amused as the other teens as they watched the date with Mrs. Hammond.
When Termitus's termites covered the Astro Megazord, Andros summoned the Delta Megazord and had it prepare to fire its
Gyro Blasters at them, making T.J. warn him to aim
well, as he was shooting at them; once the Delta
Megazord had perfectly blasted the bugs off, Andros crossed his arms
smugly and asked, "How's that for good aim?"
With Carlos in the infirmary after being stung, Carlos said he hadn't gotten a good look but that
it had been some sort of bug; Andros curiously
asked if it felt cold, and Carlos said it did,
but Andros said he still wasn't sure whether he recognized the bite.
Andros subtlely gestured for T.J. to come into the hall with him, and the two left
and spoke seriously in the hall, then left.
Andros and T.J. ran through
the jungle planet looking for the bug to
identify it, but they were confronted by Darkonda, holding a sack over his shoulder and
the dead Barillian Bug in
his hand, saying perhaps he had what they sought.
T.J. and Andros looked at
each other, apparently both equally unfamiliar with Darkonda.
Soon up in a tree, Darkonda cut open another pod, and a Barillian Bug pursued morphed
T.J. until Andros shot it down.
After examining the dead bug, Andros concluded
that it was definitely a Barillian Bug.
Andros explained to T.J.
that huge swarms of Barillian
Bugs had once attacked KO-35; they had been
everywhere, stinging without warning; in hours, people stung would turn
into Barillian Bug monsters.
Their only hope, Andros said, was an antidote
developed by scientists on KO-35, and he and T.J., after calling the girls
to report in, planned an immediate journey to KO-35 in hopes of finding some antidote left.
After Cassie had been
stung during a struggle with Bug-Carlos, Andros was silently distraught upon seeing
the sting.
In the infirmary, the three teens sadly strapped Cassie onto the med table, and she looked back up
at them with worry; her arms had been left unrestrained.
As they neared KO-35 and
T.J. and Andros prepared
to go down to KO-35, Andros told Ashley to protect the bridge no matter what, even if it meant
she had to shoot.
In the hospital on KO-35,
Andros found the antidote in a locked cabinet, and when they were
attacked by Darkonda, Andros stayed to hold
him off as he had T.J. flee and return to the ship
with the antidote.
Almost beaten, Andros kept fighting back and
knocked them both out of the building, where Andros delivered a powerful
blow using the Battlizer; the others would
arrive shortly, the antidote having cured Cassie and Carlos.
After the Rangers
had landed in the Astro Megazord to
fight the giant Barillian
Bug monster, the Megazord turned to
look at the monster, then calmly beckoned him in; as the monster
attacked, the Megazord dodged every one
of his swings, with Andros deftly maneuvering the Megazord with his joysticks.
Piloted by Andros, the Megazord proceeded to pound the monster
into submission, then destroyed it with the Astro Megazord Saber.
Later, on a rooftop in the KO-35 city, Andros held his locket in his hands and
looked out at the vista around him.
Andros's locket had a diamond shape in the center
with spokes radiating outward.
Andros remembered how he'd run off as a kid and
returned to find Karone missing, seeing a
shadowed Darkonda in the trees carrying her
away (though not realizing it was Darkonda).
Ashley came up and asked
what he was thinking about; he told her that the last time he'd seen Karone was in the park below.
Something told Andros he was really close to
finding Karone; Ashley
hoped he was right and had him come on back to the ship.
On the Simudeck, the
teens played basketball in their workout uniforms on a simulated court in a
simulated park; the ball, however, was real.
T.J. and Andros were on a
team, and the other three were on another team.
When the next point would win the game, T.J. reminded Andros about a special play they'd been
practicing earlier; using his hands as a springboard, Andros sent T.J. flipping over the three other teens for a slam dunk.
Later, on Brokaya, morphed Andros retained a
cocky attitude when the Rangers were
confronted by Darkliptor.
After Ashley and Cassie, failing to dodge Darkliptor's energy bolt, had been frozen in
cages of ice, Andros was furious; T.J. tried to
hold him back to think through their situation, but Andros, shoving him
aside, yelled that he was done thinking.
As Darkliptor swung to
finish off Andros after he'd been knocked down, T.J. leapt in the way, taking the blow to his chest,
then received a staggering blow to the head which cracked his helmet.
As Darkliptor
approached Andros while he cradled the limp T.J.,
Carlos tackled Darkliptor aside but was frozen as well while
planning for the three of them to retreat.
Struggling just before freezing, Carlos told Andros to take T.J. back to the ship, and Andros flew T.J. away on his Galaxy
Glider.
Andros was working beside T.J.'s med table in the infirmary when T.J. woke up.
Andros told him to take it easy, as he'd taken a
hard hit, but T.J. had lost his memory and didn't
even recognize his own name, which Andros initially thought was a joke.
Soon entering the bridge where T.J.
was overwhelmed, Andros needed T.J.'s help and tried to jog his memory
by telling him this was the Astro
Megaship and he was the Blue
Power Ranger, a concept which T.J. didn't grasp, hurting his head,
and Andros reminded him he'd saved Andros from Darkliptor.
When Darkliptor, with
the three frozen Rangers on Brokaya, told
the remaining Rangers from the viewscreen
to return and deal with him or he'd destroy their three friends, Andros
said they had to go, but T.J. refused, saying
Andros had made a mistake and that he wasn't the Blue Power Ranger.
To attempt to convince T.J.,
Andros morphed; T.J. looked between Red Ranger and his own Morpher, but it didn't help him remember
anything.
Andros decided to go back down to the planet by
himself, and he teleported from the bridge, startling T.J.
After nearly beating Andros, Darkliptor was distracted by Blue Ranger's arrival on the
scene, and as he knocked down and approached T.J.,
Andros leapt in and took the blast.
T.J. jump-kicked Darkliptor back when he was approaching Andros,
then remembered their special play: T.J. ran
forward with both the Astro Axe
and Spiral Saber, with Andros
running in behind him; T.J. threw the weapons into
the air, then as Darkliptor looked up, T.J. shot him with his Astro Blaster, and Andros sprung off T.J.'s hands, caught the weapons in midair, and
slashed Darkliptor with both of them,
shattering them back apart into Darkonda and
Ecliptor and unfreezing the other Rangers.
Later, Andros casually used his telekinesis to
send a tool from his hand onto a table nearby after he'd examined the
damaged interstellar scanner.
On a nightstand by Andros's bed in his quarters was a lamp and photos of
himself and Karone as children, with a red
border around his own picture and a gold border around Karone's.
Andros dreamt of confronting Darkonda in a forest while morphed, perhaps
recalling an actual confrontation, or merely imagining it.
In the dream, Andros asked Darkonda who he was, and he replied, "I'm hurt
that you don't remember me," explaining that they'd met a long time ago.
When blasted, Andros ran forward to confront Darkonda but suddenly woke up.
DECA reassured Andros that
he'd only been dreaming; he looked at his locket in silence.
On the bridge
that morning, the four teens were preparing
various scanners when Andros came in putting on
his jacket, not having slept well.
The Delta Megashipdocking station and Megaship were apparently in Earth orbit, in which case Andros had probably
spent the night on the Megaship but the
four teens had probably slept at their homes
and teleported to the ship that morning
just before Andros had gotten up.
The teens were just
leaving, without Andros, to check out a planet
in the Dagobah system for a few hours.
Now alone, Andros inserted the mini-disc from his
locket into a player on the bridge,
playing back Karone's kidnapping; he couldn't
make himself watch.
The video now
clearly showed Darkonda's back as he carried
Karone away, with his laugh being recognizable.
Recognizing the laugh, Andros looked at the
viewscreen and realized Darkonda had
kidnapped Karone.
As Andros angrily walked into the workbay with an AmScanner, DECA observed that he appeared upset; when he went
to his jump tube after checking a
planet on the starchart display, DECA told him he
must not go to the planet Onyx, as it was located
in a prohibited sector, but he went anyway after telling her she didn't
know where he was going.
Hiding unmorphed near the Onyx Tavern, Andros covered himself in a black cloak
before entering.
At a table where several villains were playing a card game, Darkonda sat and put down a blue gem and told
the dealer to deal, but Andros then sat at the table as well to join the
game.
When asked by Skygantor who he was, Andros,
speaking in a low throaty voice, replied he was just a traveler, and Darkonda agreed, "Aren't we all," and had the
dealer deal.
Betting, Skygantor put down five crystals,
and Andros put down five more.
When Skygantor took out five black keycards to bet with, the dealer
yelled that they were worthless, but Darkonda
carefully examined them with intrigue, asking where he'd gotten them.
Skygantor defensively told the
dealer, "I stole them when we battled on Eltar!"; the dealer was unimpressed.
Skygantor added, "They were Zordon's! They must be worth something!" and Darkonda agreed, saying the keycards were priceless.
After the dealer had agreed and added his own
money to the pile, Skygantor
showed his hand, three zanabas, but Darkonda
topped that with five zanabatars.
The silver-masked player and dealer were beaten,
and the dealer threw down his cards and grumbled, "Not again!"
Andros laid down his cards, and upon seeing it
was a zinta, Skygantor stood
and aimed a large gun at Andros, telling him, "You cheat!"
Andros kicked Skygantor's legs out from under
him and caught his gun, aiming it back at him; he growled at Skygantor, "You're the one who was
cheating, and you're lucky I'm in a good mood today," then set the gun
on the table and walked over to the bar to look through the keycards, which were the only prize
he'd taken from the table.
Intrigued, Darkonda
went up to talk with the stranger, telling him, "A skilled player and a
daring fighter. I like that combination."
Darkonda ordered two
Onyx juice specials for the traveler and himself,
and Andros raised the steaming cup in a toast with Darkonda and then drank from it.
Darkonda told Andros
he would be willing to pay him handsomely for the keycards, thinking they could be of
no use to a traveler such as him; when Andros said he needed them to buy
information, Darkonda replied that it was his
lucky day, as he had been everywhere and seen everything.
Andros was interested in finding out whether
there was something of value on KO-35, and Darkonda replied that it was in the Karova
system and that he knew it better than anyone; Andros slid him the keycards, saying perhaps they could
make a deal and having Darkonda tell him what
he knew.
Darkonda took the keycards quickly and then
frantically counted through them while facing the other way, absently
talking to Andros.
Darkonda described KO-35, saying, "It has trees, lakes, blue skies,
mountains... a quite dreadful place, really. It's been uninhabited for
years."
Darkonda then amusedly
whispered to Andros about a little job he'd done before it was deserted,
kidnapping a little girl while she and her "little brother" were
playing.
As Andros crushed his drink with gloved hands, Darkonda said that he'd already taken anything
that had been of value on KO-35.
Stepping back from the bar, Andros asked what had
become of the girl; Darkonda answered, "Oh,
she's alive and well. And you'd never believe where she is now!
She's--" but then spotted the Morpher on
Andros's arm as he stood in anger.
Fighting Andros, Darkonda said Andros may know that he'd taken
his sister, but, pulling Andros's hood back, said he'd destroy Andros
before he found out where she was.
After swiping the keycards from up Darkonda's right "sleeve," Andros threw his
sword at Darkonda and leapt off the balcony,
swinging down off a chandelier, then ran out and flew off on his Galaxy Glider after morphing.
With Velocifighters closing in from in front
and behind after a lengthy street chase, Andros
leapt over the front Velocifighter, his
Galaxy Glider going under; once he'd
landed on the glider on the other side, the two Velocifighters collided, exploding.
Only after destroying the Velocifighters did Andros finally fly away
into the sky to return to the Megaship.
The others were already back when Andros entered, making them wonder where he'd
gone.
Andros told the others about his encounter with
Darkonda and said the keycards might've been stolen from
Zordon.
After Alpha had
verified that the keycards were
genuine and had come from Eltar, Andros took the
cards and went to the Megalift, but the others went with him.
Andros didn't know of the Mega Vehicles, or even that there was a
weapon on Jupiter's moon.
When a male operator voice announced remote
control of the Delta Megaship as the ship
approached Ganymede, Carlos asked whether the guy was one of Andros's
friends, but he replied with astonishment that he had no clue.
Once the Delta
Megaship had stopped inside the moonbase,
Andros led the Rangers out of the ship,
then down a ladder with a sign with alien
symbols on the wall beside it.
Thinking he'd heard something at the end of the
walkway, Andros quickly led the Rangers
across several ramps with numerous alien signs.
In a hangar containing numerous storage drums and
crates, as well as a small orange one-person spaceship with alien
writing on it, Andros knew he would know what he was looking for when he
saw it; spotting a large panel of lights and controls on the wall near a
door, he realized that had to be it.
During the ensuing fight, Andros got past Ecliptor (with a single punch) and worked on the
door controls, breaking the code and opening the doors within seconds.
As Andros went into
the area beyond, filled with even more controls, he was suddenly
carrying under his arm some sort of gray, square, flat object the size
of a briefcase; once Cassie was running for the
doors as they began to close, he no longer had the case.
Upon obtaining new keycards and beholding the five Mega Vehicles, the Rangers were awed, not having seen anything
like them before.
Ashley figured that Zordon had hidden the Mega Vehicles there, knowing that one day
there would be an emergency and they would need them; Andros noted,
"Well, we need them right now!"
In Mega V-1 for
the first time, Andros was surprised by the sensitivity of the controls
when he accidentally caused the Zord to tear free from its restraint
cables.
Andros was apparently the only Ranger to have trouble controlling his V-Zord; after flailing its arms wildly
before launch, V-1 nearly fell over
while being accelerated down its launch tunnel.
Eventually starting to get a feel for the
controls, Andros showed off by having Mega
V-1 hop from V-5 to V-4 to V-2, rocking each, finally landing on V-3, to the annoyance of T.J.
As the Rangers
regrouped against Lionizer,
Andros told morphed Justin that they needed
more firepower; as Justin agreed, Storm Blaster came forward to blast Lionizer, and the Blue Rangers would add their lasers to overpower the
monster's energy beam.
When confronted by
giant Lionizer downtown one
night, T.J. told Justin to
wait until he saw this, and Andros said he'd like it; the five Rangers then summoned just Mega V-1, which Andros piloted until
calling for the Mega Voyager.
Ashley hugged Justin, and he remarked it was just like old
times, saying he thought about the teens a lot,
wondering if they were okay; T.J. assured him they
were fine.
Ashley dragged the
silent Andros forward and introduced him as being from "the space
colony"; Justin, impressed, said it was nice to
meet him, and Andros thanked him for his help.
The teens celebrated Ashley's seventeenth birthday at a table in the park.
After blowing out the seventeen candles on her
cake, Ashley wouldn't tell Carlos what she'd wished for; Cassie could guess, and the girls looked at Andros
sitting by himself, staring into space, and Ashley chuckled.
Ashley took the coveted
corner cake piece from Carlos over to Andros.
Ashley offered Andros
some birthday cake, and he thanked her, then told her they didn't
celebrate birthdays on KO-35.
Ashley happily told
Andros he didn't have to get her anything, not expecting him to know all
the weird customs on Earth, but, smiling, he
pulled out a small gold box anyway.
Inside was a V-shaped gold necklace with a
triangular orange gem in the crux of the V; Andros said it was a rare
gem from KO-35, and Ashley loved it.
Later walking through the park with Cassie,
Ashley said sometimes she thought Andros liked
her, but he was so shy; Cassie pointed out that
he'd been riding around in a spaceship for years and probably hadn't had
much of a chance to date.
On the bridge
at Ashley's station later, Andros told T.J., who was at the "Operations & Safety" console,
that he was still worried about that surveillance problem (secretly
caused by Astronema's melting of a DECA camera elsewhere on that deck), and he tried
calling Cassie and Carlos but got no reply, so T.J. went to check it out.
Astronema, disguised
as Ashley, soon entered the bridge; casually scanning the wall
consoles, she pretended not to know the others' whereabouts, saying they
were hanging around somewhere.
Astronema crept up
with her staff behind Andros
as he worked at Ashley's station but quickly
hid it when he stood to check out the situation.
When giant Sting King appeared on a monitor
at the "Computer Systems" console, Astronema
took Andros to the monitor and asked him what it was.
Although DECA said her
sensors detected no monster on Earth, Astronema had
them rush out anyway, saying they didn't have time to find the others.
Ashley pleadingly tried
to explain it was her, Ashley, but Astronema attacked her and fought hand-to-hand
before calling Andros over, making him snap to action.
Morphed Andros fought Ashley until she told him the Yellow Ranger was really Astronema; when he asked Yellow what she was talking
about, she paused and then replied that it must be a trick, at which
point Andros agreed and kept fighting.
Struggling, Ashley said
she didn't want to hurt him, but Yellow Ranger shouted for him
to destroy her while he still had the chance.
Her feelings hurt, Ashley shoved Andros back and said she could prove
it was all a trick; she then mischievously asked Yellow Ranger what Andros had
gotten her for her birthday, and she couldn't remember, but Ashley triumphantly said it was a necklace from KO-35, proving she was Ashley despite her looking like Astronema.
Frustrated, morphed Astronema drew her Astro Blaster at Ashley, but she and Andros dodged, with Andros
returning fire.
Meanwhile, the two Astronemas struggled, confusing Andros; the
other three Rangers ran up and were
confused as well.
Andros got an idea and called out to Ashley, "Let's rocket!"; one Astronema did her pre-morph hand gesture, but the other
fumbled with her arms, trying to copy the hand gestures.
On a desert planet called Kadix, the teens were, for an unknown reason, collecting
samples of certain pods, one of which would eventually hatch into the Lunatick monster; Andros told them,
"Okay, guys, let's just find one more and that should do it for now."
As the teens walked
away, four desert trees turned into brown-cloaked humanoid beings, and dozens of the beings suddenly surrounded the teens silently.
Andros, unfamiliar with the beings but agreeing with the others that
they didn't look friendly, had them flee, and all of the teens but
Andros discarded their sacks to run back to the Megaship.
Once they'd gotten
somewhat close to the ship, the teens stopped,
and Andros had them morph;
afterwards, as they fought the beings,
Andros slung his sack around like a weapon, apparently not concerned
about damaging its contents.
Carlos said there were
too many of them, and Andros agreed, deciding they should get out of
there.
Shortly after having the four teens fix the problem in the engine room while he remained to man the
bridge, he walked in on them as they
beheld Zhane's cryogenic tube after the hidden
door had come open.
Answering the
question of who the person was, which Ashley
had asked before knowing Andros was there, Andros replied, "His name is
Zhane. He's the Silver Ranger" (but after a
commercial break, his answer would change to, "His name is Zhane. He's my best friend.").
Andros began to explain
his and Zhane's story from two years ago to the
teens, recalling, "We were a team. Invincible.
Until the day Dark Specter attacked our
home planet, KO-35."
The villains had been
everywhere, relentless, Andros described; in
the streets of a city under siege, with rubble and burning cars strewn
about, white-striped Piranhatrons had
fought KO-35 troopers, as well as Andros and Zhane, morphed
as the Red and SilverRangers.
Zhane had told Andros there was just too many of them.
When Andros had been
knocked down defending some troopers from a monster, the monster
had prepared to deliver a final blow to him, but Zhane, having been fighting Piranhatrons, had rushed in and tackled the
monster, causing a large explosion.
Amidst all the flaming city rubble, morphed Andros had carried the lifeless Silver Ranger over his shoulder
between two rows of troopers as civilians walked nearby.
Andros had then brought
Zhane to the Megaship and frozen him in an attempt to
save his life.
Andros hoped that the
instrument would heal Zhane over time, but he'd
already been there two years, and Andros didn't
know when or if he would ever wake up, but for now, the machine kept Zhane alive.
DECA interrupted, having
completed the damage reports, before Andros could answer why he hadn't
told them about Zhane.
Later, as Kadix
beings infiltrated the malfunctioning Megaship while the Rangers fought more outside, Zhane's heart monitor suddenly flatlined, causing
Andros to put his finger to the left side of his head and sense that
something was wrong with Zhane.
Andros collapsed onto his knees in defeat,
thinking Zhane had died; he then got back up and
pounded a large group of Kadix beings in
a rage.
Astounded by Zhane's
recovery, Andros had the six Rangers
retreat into the Megaship when Lunatick grew to giant size.
Inside as the Rangers ran through a corridor, Andros and
Zhane stopped to do a friendly gesture of
hitting together their alternating forearms (high right arms, high left
arms, low right arms), then shaking hands while gripping the handshake
with their free hands.
Zhane remarked it was
just like old times; Andros was quite glad to see him, and Zhane asked, "You didn't think I'd abandon my best
friend, did you?"; Andros replied, "Never. Come on!"
Later, as the five teens
approached the bridge after their
battle, Zhane was telling Alpha a story about a giant monster grabbing him and lifting him up.
Amused, Andros corrected, "As I recall, I was the
one he grabbed and lifted up."
In the past, Andros and Zhane had somehow fought giant monsters apparently without having a Megazord at their disposal.
Smiling, Zhane told Alpha he'd have to finish the story later, and
Alpha said he couldn't wait.
After hugging Andros, Zhane asked what had happened to him, asking,
"How'd we get here?" and Andros explained he'd been in hypersleep for
two years, surprising Zhane.
Startling forward as though enchanted by Zhane, Ashley stepped
forward and extended her hand, introducing herself.
Andros explained that the gesture was called
"shaking hands" and was a greeting, but Zhane
not only said he knew that, but had also almost extended his hand in
return before Andros's explanation.
Enchanted in return,
Zhane remarked that he'd never met a female Power Ranger before, but why he completely
ignored Cassie is unknown; he then told Ashley it was nice to meet her and kissed her
hand.
Zhane's most recent
memory was of the attack on KO-35, and Andros
took him away happily, having a million things to tell him.
Andros was walking down
a hallway, trying to think of how to ask Ashley
on a date, when he stumbled upon Zhane standing very close to Ashley in the workbay,
with his hands on her shoulders behind her as he attempted to teach her
telekinesis.
Zhane lifted up a scanner device with telekinesis and grabbed it, and Ashley giggled and touched his arm, making Andros secretly storm off.
When morphed Ashley was
knocked down like the others in the fight with Crocotox, Andros rushed to her side
to make sure she was all right.
When Andros was grabbed and slashed, Ashley joined him in holding back Crocotox while Zhane came in and kicked the monster back, making
Ashley remark, "What a gentleman!"
After Zhane had vanished
during the battle and returned unmorphed afterward, Ashley held Zhane's hand
with both of hers and told him he had some great moves and asked if he
could teach them a few.
As Ashley went to the Synthetron in the workbay after the battle, Andros watched her,
thinking.
After Ashley had
generated a brownie for herself, Andros began to nervously ask Ashley something, and she was smiling, wondering
what he was going to say, but as the others left, Zhane came up to them and suspected Darkonda had to have some sort of lab and asked
Ashley if she wanted to help him start
scanning.
Ashley agreed, and Zhane took her brownie, almost walking off.
When Ashley asked Andros
what he wanted to ask her, Zhane stayed, amused,
and messily devoured the whole brownie.
Upset, Andros said to forget it and walked off.
After the teens believed
they'd found Darkonda's lab on the bridge, Zhane
walked into the workbay to tell Andros, saying
he had a feeling Darkonda wasn't just
bragging, but Andros, working on an open box setup with a glowing rod
device, hurt himself slightly and then glared at Zhane angrily.
Zhane went on, saying Darkonda might have more of the monsters, maybe
even a whole hatchery.
When Andros couldn't find something in his
locker, Zhane volunteered a part on the table
where Andros had been, and he took it, saying, "Thanks for nothing."
When Zhane asked, "Excuse
me?", Andros asked what he thought he'd been doing with Ashley; Zhane asked, "With Ashley?" Andros went on that
he'd seen them together and that they'd looked pretty chummy, then said,
"You don't waste any time, do you?"
Smiling, Zhane explained
they were just friends, and that he knew Andros liked her and he
wouldn't step on his toes.
Andros started to walk off, still upset, but Zhane grabbed his sleeve and said he couldn't be
serious, as they were best friends; leaving, Andros said that nowadays
he wondered.
As Andros and Zhane came
onto the bridge, the others told
Andros they thought they knew where Darkonda's lab was, as DECA had located it on the planet Dekata 5.
As the teens prepared to
leave, Ashley cheerfully told Zhane to come on, but Andros said they'd handle
this.
Carlos pointed out they
could use all the help they could get against Darkonda, but Andros forcefully stated Zhane stayed; as the others began to leave with
confusion, Zhane lied that he wasn't feeling so
hot.
Lingering, Ashley asked
if he'd be okay, and he said he would; she touched his arm before
leaving.
Sitting on the bridge, Zhane
remembered himself and Andros walking through a field in their Megaship uniforms, laughing
together.
Andros had said, "I'm talking forever! No
kidding! Really!" and Zhane had replied, "Why
not? You and I will prove it!"
In another flashback, they were standing before
each other in probably the same area; Andros said they'd vow to fight as
a team forever, and they both agreed as they bumped their left forearms
high, right forearms low, and then shook hands; this happy alliance had
to have occurred prior to Dark Specter's
invasion two years ago.
Zhane then recalled the
battle on KO-35: Zhane
had called for Andros to look out, at which point the monster had slashed Andros back; as the monster had prepared a finishing blow, Zhane had shouted, "No!" and rushed in to take the
hit.
Zhane had then slashed
the monster back and bear-hugged him; as the
two were falling, Zhane had called out, "Andros,
run!!" and they had both been engulfed in an explosion as they'd hit the
ground.
Chuckling at the ridiculousness of the situation,
Zhane said Andros was his best friend and got up
to go help the Rangers, making Alpha chuckle, "That's the spirit!"
When the Rangers
were trapped in a strong net, Andros realized they needed Zhane.
Soon, Ecliptor hurled
Zhane onto the sand again and told him he was
nothing without his friends to help him, at which point Zhane heard Andros grunting and suddenly looked
into the sky and briefly saw a translucent image of the Rangers trapped in a net in Darkonda's lab, with Andros saying they had to
find Zhane.
While Zhane was off
destroying Darkonda's lab after arriving,
Andros got an idea and used the Battlizer's
laser attack to cut them free from the net.
After the Rangers
had destroyed the giant blue Crocotox with the Astro Delta Megazord, Andros was
deperate in looking for Zhane as he fought the
red Crocotox somewhere below;
they presumably didn't see as Zhane
involuntarily demorphed
immediately after destroying the monster.
On the bridge
with Zhane, Andros apologized and said he
thought he'd overreacted; Zhane, stonefaced,
said he'd definitely overreacted, but when Andros extended his hand, Zhane smiled and shook it, saying he forgave him.
Before going, Zhane told
him that the times he'd been with Ashley, she'd
spent most of the time asking about Andros.
As Andros asked what kind of questions, Ashley walked in and exchanged parting glances
with Zhane as Zhane was
leaving.
Despite thinking it might be too boring for him,
since he did come from space, Ashley began to nervously ask Andros out
somewhere, but he then suddenly asked if she wanted to go check out
Halley's Comet with him, and she happily said she'd love to.
The two walked off with Andros's hand on Ashley's back.
Misunderstanding a diagnosis from Alpha which they'd partially overheard, Andros
and Cassie were shocked as they believed Zhane was dying; upon learning of this, the five teens catered to Zhane,
trying to make him take it easy.
When it appeared that morphed Zhane had been blown up by Praying Mantis, the Rangers all screamed in agony, thinking Zhane had been killed.
Andros collapsed to his knees, saying, "He was my
best friend, and I've lost him again!"; he then angrily stood, and the
Rangers charged but were blasted back.
Andros furiously said it couldn't end like this
and they couldn't give up, and Cassie sobbingly
said Zhane would want them to keep fighting.
After being captured by the KO-35Rebels on a search
mission on Centaur B, the four teens were chained up in front of an angry mob who
all wanted their destruction, incited by the general Yatru into thinking they were spies.
Yatru ordered for them
to be taken to the surface and destroyed, but the cloaked and masked Zhane and Andros stormed in and ordered them to be
released; Yatru said they were more spies and
told the guards to capture them, but the two pulled Astro Blasters and aimed them at the
guards.
Andros declared that they weren't spies, and nor
were the four teens; he and Zhane then removed
their masks as he declared they were Power
Rangers, stunning the crowd.
Taikwa knew Andros and
Zhane, and Andros was surprised to see her
there; she explained that they had been in hiding since escaping from KO-35.
After teleporting
back to the ship once Zhane had decided to stay
with the Rebels, the five teens assumed their normal positions on the bridge and prepared to leave Centaur B's orbit.
Andros took a moment of reflective silence, then
finally had them leave orbit to get back to work.
One day, morphed Andros and Darkonda swordfought in a pine forest; Andros
shouted that Darkonda had kidnapped his
sister, and Darkonda considered it one of his
finest accomplishments.
During the fight, Darkonda said that his only regret was not
destroying Andros when he'd kidnapped his sister.
After catching Darkonda offguard and pinning the Spiral Saber to his neck, Andros
demanded to know where his sister was, but Darkonda knew he wouldn't destroy him; Andros
then angrily readied the drill to plunge it into Darkonda, but the snapping of a twig caused by
Ecliptor's spying nearby distracted him,
giving Darkonda the chance to vanish.
Hearing Darkonda's
laughter in the distance, Andros swore to find Darkonda again, then teleported away to the ship.
On Andros's nightstand in his sleeping quarters were silver picture
frames of himself and Karone as children, with
his picture having a red border and hers having a gold border.
That night in his quarters, Andros had a nightmare of Karone's kidnapping.
The next day, the four teens were at their stations in the bridge, but with Cassie in Andros's seat; when told of Batarax's attack in Angel Grove, the teens rushed out after telling Alpha to alert Andros, and the five Rangers went down to Earth together from the orbiting ship.
When morphed Andros defended a mother and her two
young children (Andrew and Karen) from an attacking Quantron, a purple energy bolt from Astronema's staff stopped the Quantron dead in its tracks, making it fall
backward stiffly, its back apparently sizzling.
Andros and Ecliptor
were both puzzled, and Astronema, shocked
herself, walked off despite Ecliptor's asking
her to wait.
Continuing to fight Quantrons, Andros caught sight of Darkonda behind a building, who lured him away
by running off, and Andros pursued him into the forest on his Galaxy Glider.
Luring Andros toward a laser beam trap, Darkonda brought up a proposition as they
fought: if Andros could beat him, he'd tell him where his sister was,
but Andros refused before Darkonda could give
the alternative.
Soon seeing the trap's hidden activator plate
between himself and Andros, Darkonda told him
his sister didn't even know he existed, and she wouldn't unless he told
Andros more; to get more information, Andros charged forward, right
toward the activator plate, but Ecliptor
tackled him aside and saved his life.
Darkonda was so
startled that he stepped forward onto the activator plate, and the laser
beams from the surrounding devices centered on him and destroyed him in
a large explosion.
Andros was quite upset that Darkonda had been destroyed, but when he learned
that Ecliptor had actually saved his life, he
was baffled; Ecliptor left, saying he would
not save him again.
When Andros returned to the plaza, Astronema blasted him in the back, planning to
take out a Ranger herself, then proceeded
to fight him personally, wielding her staff against his Spiral Saber.
During the intense fight, Andros spun around with
a slash that missed Astronema's neck by no
more than an inch, tearing the locket from her neck, and making her
shout in protest and clutch her neck in panic.
The locket caught itself on a steel bar in a slab
of broken concrete nearby; Astronema
casually shoved the confused Andros aside to go after it, but the other
four Rangers blocked her path; surrounded
as the Quantrons retreated and Batarax was barely able to stand up,
Astronema angrily held up her staff and called for the Satellasers to be fired,
enlarging Batarax.
Andros wanted to finish the fight with Astronema, but she teleported away as he
attacked, disappointing him.
As Andros picked up the locket, Astronema (in gear) shouted for him not to
touch it.
As Astronema walked
forward, Andros, watching her, confidently clicked open the locket and
saw two pictures of young Andros and Karone.
Shocked, Andros asked where she'd gotten it, but
she snatched it from him and said she'd always had it; as she inspected
it, he asked himself if it was possible she could be Karone.
Astronema turned
toward him, still angry, but was startled when he opened his locket and
said he'd always had his as well.
Andros approached her, telling her with awe that
she was his sister Karone; initially defensive,
she was a bit stunned and confused to hear the mention of her original
name, but she regained her defenses when he came closer.
Upset, Astronema accused Andros of destroying her
parents and her brother; she pulled away, his hand having been holding
her elbow, and he told her sadly, "No, listen to me. I am your
brother," but in Astronema's flashback in 627-AsTT, she would recall Andros having shaken
her and shouted, "Now listen to me, I am your brother!"
Astronema thought for
a moment, clutching her locket, but then slyly told him it was a nice
try but his tricks wouldn't work on her, and she teleported away,
paining him.
Later as the Megaship flew through space, Andros told the others he'd been searching
for her all this time, and she'd been right under his nose, but now she
didn't believe him; T.J. told him that first he had
to convince her that he was telling the truth.
Ashley warned Andros
that she might not have any good left in her, but Andros insisted
somewhere inside Astronema was Karone and that he just had to figure out how to
reach her.
On KO-35 the next day, Astronema walked through a city courtyard,
looking around curiously and hearing children's giggles in her memory;
she then recalled a woman's voice, perhaps her mother, calling, "Karone... dinner will be ready soon!"
Astronema remembered
Andros looking at her locket, then him telling her she was his sister Karone; she looked at the open locket in her hand
and recalled the motherly voice calling out, "Karone, it's starting to get dark. You kids
better come in now!"
Once Astronema had
wandered into a park area, she remembered a woman's voice sounding just
like DECA (perhaps the same as the previous
voices, but more like DECA than before) saying,
"Now go on and play with your brother," and she and Andros had played as
kids with the hovering sphere.
Astronema remembered
being kidnapped by Darkonda, then while she
was remembering young Andros calling out for her, Andros in present day
called her Karone, saying she remembered; she
threatened him with her staff
with skepticism, but he told her she'd come there because she remembered
her last day as Karone, when Darkonda had kidnapped her.
With a sudden change of heart after remembering
her kidnapping again, Astronema blasted at
Andros with her staff
repeatedly, then was gone.
Soon, Andros was looking through the courtyard
calling out for Karone when the needle monster attacked him;
he fought without morphing but did
poorly and was flipped.
When Andros brought up his arm to morph, the monster hit his arm, sending
the Morpher flying; nearby, Astronema watched with pleasure as Andros did
poorly, then picked up his Morpher and
smiled.
As Andros continued to lose but kept fighting, Astronema ducked behind a wall and watched with
concern; as the monster stepped on Andros's chest, Astronema remembered him telling her she was
his sister Karone, then him shaking her and
shouting that he was her brother.
Astronema softly
spoke Andros's name and tossed him the Morpher, then walked away; surprised,
Andros called after her, calling her Astronema and then Karone, but she continued walking as she looked
back.
After morphing, Andros again called out for
his sister, this time calling her Karone and
then Astronema, but she was gone.
After the four Rangers had arrived, Carlos soon noted that the monster didn't know
when to give up, then leapt in with a Lunar Lance attack, then stood in the
center of the group and called for the Quadroblaster.
Later on the bridge in KO-35
orbit, the teens tried to convince Andros that
Astronema was no less dangerous just because
she knew the truth; Andros agreed but firmly pointed out that she'd
saved him from the monster by giving him back his Morpher.
DECA announced an incoming
transmission, and Alpha was surprised to
realize it was Astronema; Andros had them
open the communications, and Astronema, in a
cavern, looked around in worry and then quietly told Andros to meet her
on KO-35, as she had to speak to him alone.
Andros went down to KO-35
despite the others' warnings.
On KO-35, Andros was in
the plaza when he spotted Astronema (in
